Jive History

Hi Ladies,

After a rather shaky start this morning I was very pleased with your efforts during the practical session as i was observing people working in their pairs and using the basic steps and moving to the music. I also observed people writing down their moves which i would encourage all students to do.
A reminder that we are learning how to learn and learning takes place in a variety of ways. We also looking at how you are developing your inter-personal skills with people you are working with.

You will have no more practice during school time to complete your performance of a Jive dance. Your Jive dance should be a performance of 1 minute or more. You will need to perform this dance at out first lesson next week & once again we will video this performance. Secondly this will be the last week we will have on dance and at the end of next week you will be performing your free dance & it will need to be at least 2 minutes in length.

If you have any questions feel free to email me at the following address.

Do some research & look at other Jive dances on Youtube to get ideas.

Jive Dancing

Hi Ladies,

I have decided to use a couple of different Videos to learn the Jive for these coming lessons

A few reminders
1. You will need to find your own music for this dance.

2. You will need to work with a partner.

3. You will be required to do both parts - Lead (Male Role) & Follow (Female Role)

We have less than 2 weeks left to complete the dance unit -

Therefore- a few questions based on what you have been learning?

Are you having fun doing this activity? Explain how it is fun? interaction.
What skills are you learning about dance? What dances have you learned?
Have you been able to develop your own dance? Explain what you did to help develop your dance?
